KIIFB sanctions Rs 25 crore for two bridges across Neyyar river

Rs 15.20 crore has been sanctioned for a bridge between Mullaravila and Aayayil.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The director board of Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB), which met on Thursday, has sanctioned Rs 25.5 crore for two bridges across Neyyar river, said Neyyatinkara MLA K. Anselan. The Irumbil- Kannipuram bridge, coasting Rs 10.19 crore, will connect Irumbil area with Neyyatinkara town. At present hundreds of of residents of the region, particularly students, have to travel to Arakunnu bridge that connects Poovankala area with Neyyatinkara town.

Once the bridge comes up, they will not have to take the long winding route to reach educational institutions and government offices close to the administrative centres of Neyyatinkara. Rs 15.20 crore has been sanctioned for a bridge between Mullaravila and Aayayil. “This bridge will help devotees and tourists to reach Aruvippuram and Aayayil temples, which are of historically importance,” Mr Anselan said.
