Hyderabad: The postal department celebrated the week-long postal mela at Echoda post office in Adilabad district on Thursday. Gracing the occasion, Dr B. Rajender, principal secretary to the government of Bihar, distributed pass books to new investors to mark the occasion.
The week-long drive is aimed at encouraging the habit of savings amongst general public, especially in the rural areas, against higher interest rates. Dr P.V.S. Reddy, postmaster general, Hyderabad region, explained about various benefits of post office savings.
