Rajasthan BJP MLA brings basket full of locusts to Assembly

The state has been suffering its worst attack of locusts in 26 years

Jaipur: A BJP MLA entered the Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha premises Friday carrying a basketful of locusts and asked the state government to expedite the distribution of compensation to farmers who have suffered losses.

Eleven districts of the state are facing the worst locust attack in 26 years.

"The seriousness of the government is not visible in addressing the issue of locust attacks in western Rajasthan which have damaged crops on lakhs of hectares of land," Nokha (Bikaner) MLA Bihari Lal told reporters.

"Instead of taking the issue very seriously, the government is focused on the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

The MLA said the Congress government in the state is not really serious about the issue.

However, Bihari Lal did not take the basket into the Assembly.
