Special kids to witness Republic Day parade in New Delhi
KOZHIKODE: A total of 25 special children, aged six to 15 will leave for New Delhi on Tuesday, to watch the Republic Day parade, thanks to the BRC, MLA, volunteers of pain and palliative care and the NGOs based in Kerala and Delhi. From Kozhikode, Labour and Excise Minister T.P. Ramakrishnan will see off the students from Kunnummal BRC in Vattoli. The children, 25 parents and 30 volunteers will go via bus to Bangalore and from there they will fly to New Delhi.
They will travel in three batches to Delhi. Parakkal Abdulla MLA sponsored the tickets for all the children and the rest of the money was collected from NGOs and the public, said BRC resource teacher Adith. Once the children and their team land in Delhi, two NGOs, All-India Malayalee Association, Delhi and Smart Wings, will take care of their food, accommodation and transport. In January 2016 too, the same BRC had organised a trip for 15 students to Thiruvananthapuram, under the title ‘Dreams on Wheels’. Then chief minister Oommen Chandy had received the team.
