Koyilandy town affected by hartal
The hartal call was in protest against BJP workers being allegedly attacked by CPM men on Sunday.
KOZHIKODE: The hartal, called by BJP in Koyilandy assembly constituency on Monday, affected life in Koyilandy town. But there was no significant impact in rural areas. No shops were open in the town and transportation to rural areas was affected as local buses were off the road. Hartal supporters came and asked the Head Post Office to down shutters in the morning but government offices like Sub treasury and Taluk civil supply office functioned as normal.
Schools were closed on Monday as part of the district collector’s holiday declaration in the wake of Kozhikode becoming champions in the state school Kalolsavam. The hartal call was in protest against BJP workers being allegedly attacked by CPM men on Sunday.
