Hyderabad: The city is all geared up for a colourful Christmas celebration. Even as carolling, pre-festival events and Nativity plays are exhibiting the festive spirit, hotels and pubs are coming up with lucrative offers to woo customers.
Most of the hotels are decked up with Christmas decorations, gingerbread houses, Santa Claus and silver bells. They are serving the season’s specialties, including smoky turkey dinners, while their cookies, cakes, puddings and raspberry delights have caught the fancy of children, who are relishing them to their heart's content. The Christmas dinner is a major event for hotels and a big hit with the people.
Akhilesh Kumar, general manager at a hotel in Secunderabad, said, “Our chefs have crafted ‘Merrylicious’ Christmas brunch, which will take one on a culinary journey of traditional and modern delicacies. This is created especially for the special season.”
According to Parag Shah, general manager at a corporate hotel, “our celebrity chef Naresh Venkata is busy making a variety of cakes. We will serve them till Christmas dinner. Turkey is served with special sauces.”
He added, “there is a surge of people from other parts of the county. They are here as part of ‘Staycation’, which is a trend that is catching up. We ensure that our guests have the best of celebrations, while at same time they stay relaxed.”
