CM Jagan Opens CenturyPly's Largest Plant in Badvel

ANANTAPUR: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy inaugurated CenturyPly’s largest integrated wood panel manufacturing plant at Badvel in Kadapa district on Saturday.

CenturyPly is to invest ₹1000 crore in Phase 2 of the plant, reserving 78 per cent of the jobs for locals. The company plans to employ over 2,000 people over the next 3–5 years.

In the current Phase 1 of the project costing ₹2,000 crore, CenturyPly has already invested ₹1,000 crore.

Century Plyboards (India) Ltd. is India’s largest manufacturer of wood panel and decorative industry.

Apart from the Chief Minister, CenturyPly chairman Sajjan Bhajanka, Deputy Chief Minister Amzad Basha and Kadapa MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy participated in the programme.

CenturyPly is first of many industrial entities that are being established in the region to make it a significant furniture hub in the entire country.
This inauguration by Jagan Mohan Reddy is part of state government's vision to have one lakh acres of plantations in YSR Kadapa district towards transforming it into a lush place of flora and fauna.

The state government had allotted 0.07 TMC feet of water to the industry from Brahmamsagar Reservoir.

Speaking on the occasion, company executive director Keshav Bhajanka, CenturyPly is sustainable in its vision and leaves no stones unturned in giving back to the environment. It has already started a robust plantation drive in the region for which 1 crore saplings will be supplied to farmers annually.
