HC judge recuses himself from hearing Kondapalli civic body head election case

HC found that counsellors’ counsel Ch. Seetharam was interfering repeatedly, though it observed that as this was only a preliminary hearing

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh High Court judge Justice C. Manavendranath Roy on Wednesday recused himself from hearing a case pertaining to the election of municipal chairman of Kondapalli municipality in Krishna district.

As the Judge was hearing the case to find out the maintainability of the petition, the court found that Kondapalli municipal counsellors’ counsel Ch. Seetharam was interfering repeatedly, though it observed that as this was only a preliminary hearing. The court also stated that counsel would be given an opportunity to submit his opinion in the case in the next hearing. However, court found that counsel was continuing to argue in the case.

With this, the Judge announced that he was not going to hear the case and sent a communication to Chief Justice Prashanth Kumar Mishra to recuse him from the hearing the case.
