Sunny Leone show: Karnataka High Court tells police to submit report

The court accused the city police of practicing discrimination while granting permissions and told them decide by December 25.

BENGALURU: While the Karnataka HC on Thursday directed city police to make its stand clear on whether it would give permission to the ‘Sunny Nights’, an event featuring actress Sunny Leone on New Year's eve or not, city police Commissioner T Suneel Kumar is likely to convene a meeting and submit the report to the court on Monday.

While hearing a petition filed by the organizers of the event on Thursday, the court accused the city police of practicing discrimination while granting permissions and told them decide by December 25. However, the police maintained that it had not given its permission to the event fearing law and order situation.

On Tuesday, Sunny Leone took to Twitter and announced she wouldn’t be participating in the event as “safety of people was more important to her.”

Organisers approach police again
Meanwhile, on Friday, Harish, MD, Time Creation, the event organisers approached the DCP (Northeast) Girish and submitted a fresh requisition. He hoped the police may grant permission for the event.
