Writ Petition Filed in SC Urging Barrage

Kurnool: A writ petition has been filed in the Supreme Court urging the government to prioritise the construction of a barrage across the Krishna River at the proposed site for the iconic cable bridge.

Advocate-on-record D. Siva Rami Reddy submitted the writ petition, eloquently articulating the necessity of a barrage alongside the planned cable bridge. He emphasised that merely constructing a bridge, while undoubtedly beneficial, may not effectively address the pressing issues of drinking water and irrigation faced by the region.

The Kundu Porata Samiti, a prominent advocacy group, has been steadfastly advocating for the inclusion of a barrage in the iconic bridge project.
