Thrissur: KPCC president VM Sudheeran on Tuesday described the LDF government as the guardian of criminal and mafia gangs. Speaking at a UDF protest in Wadakkanchery against CPM allegedly protecting the party functionaries including councillor P. N. Jayanthan, accused in a gang rape case, he said the LDF was of the belief that they could push to the back all their wrongdoings by focusing on the agitation against demonetization of notes.
He also inaugurated the UDF march from Wadakkanchery to Thrissur demanding the arrest of Mr Jayanthan. DCC president P. A. Madhavan, KPCC general secretary Padmaja Venugopal, T. N. Prathapan, M. P. Vincent, Joseph Chalissery and Jose Vallur took part. The UDF councillors also held a sit-in protest at Wadakkanchery Municipality building preventing the LDF members from entering the council hall. The police forcefully removed them.
