Boy imitates fire stunt video, dies in Karimnagar
Hyderabad: A 12-year-old Class VII student died in Karimnagar on Tuesday after trying to imitate a fire breathing stunt video posted on YouTube.
The boy, Koduri Ghanashyam, tried to blow fire with kerosene kept in his mouth. However, he sustained severe burns in the process. He succumbed to his burns on Tuesday after battling for life in hospital for six days.
The incident took place on November 17. Ghanashyam was the younger son of Mr Koduri Raghu, a private employee residing in Vidyanagar in Karimnagar town.
He was a bright student and was fond of doing experiments and stunts, said sources. He had watched a fire breathing stunt video on YouTube and was inspired to try the same.
Early on the morning of November 17, when his parents were still asleep, he attempted the stunt by holding kerosene in his mouth. However, he caught fire and sustained severe burns on his mouth and chest. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Hyderabad for treatment.
