Telangana Congress reaches EC, lodges complaint against Harish Rao
HYDERABAD: Congress party on Thursday lodged a complaint with the Election Commission against Finance Minister T. Harish Rao and sought filing of a bribery case against him.
TPCC election coordination committee chairman Marri Shashidhar Reddy has also written a letter to Chief Election Commissioner in this regard. He mentioned that Minister Harish Rao was offering huge sums of money to Congress leaders for joining ruling TRS just prior to the elections. He alleged that this is nothing but offering bribe, which is a serious violation of the Model Code of Conduct.
Shashidhar Reddy referred to the video of Thoguta Congress mandal president Laxman Goud joining the TRS in the presence Minister Harish Rao. It has revealed that the minister is offering money, if required, for Congress leaders to join the TRS.
The TPCC election coordinator also brought to the notice of CEC the biased role being placed by Siddipet collector and police officers deputed in the Dubbak constituency for the elections. He demanded that the CEC remove the officers immediately for conduct of a free and fair election.
Shashidhar Reddy alleged that the state officials have failed in controlling money and liquor distribution in the constituency, which is scheduled to go for bypolls.
