Hyderabad: Youth urged to help boost agriculture

Chief secretary Dr SK Joshi urged the students to take up agricultural entrepreneurship on a large scale that they could provide employment to others.

Hyderabad: Mr B. Vinod Kumar, vice-chairman of the Telangana State Planning Board, on Tuesday exhorted young graduates to find out ways to promote agriculture in the country and come up with new and innovative Ideas to make it profitable to the farmers.

Mr Kumar was addressing the participants at a workshop on “Youth as Torchbearers of Business Oriented Agriculture in South India” held at Professor Jaya Shankar Agriculture University on Tuesday. He also mentioned the initiatives of the state government to improve agricultural sector and said that Telangana state has become subject of case studies for other states because of its novel schemes for the welfare of farmers.
