Jayalalithaa progressing well: Governer Ch Vidyasagar Rao
Chennai: Governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao on Saturday visited Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa in the ward where she is undergoing treatment in the Apollo Hospitals here and was happy to note that she is progressing well.
A Raj Bhavan press release here said the chairman of Apollo Hospitals, Dr Pratap C. Reddy, appraised the Governor that the Chief Minister continues to be under treatment and observation for all vital parameters, respiratory support and passive physiotherapy. According to doctors, the Chief Minister is “interacting and responding remarkably to the treatment”.
Dr Pratap C. Reddy also briefed the Governor in detail about the treatment being given to the Chief Minister. He also informed the Governor that the Chief Minister is being treated by a team of experts consisting of doctors from critical care group of Apollo Hospitals, senior cardiologist, senior respiratory physician, senior consultant, infectious diseases, endocrinologist, diabetologist and dieticians, the release said.
The Governor thanked the team of doctors attending on the Chief Minister for the excellent care given by them. Lok Sabha deputy Speaker, M. Thambidurai, Finance Minister O. Panneerselvam, Ministers P. Thangamani, S.P. Velumani and C.Vijaya Baskar, besides Chief Secretary P.Rama Mohana Rao, adviser to government, Sheela Balakrishnan and principal secretary for health and family welfare J. Radhakrishnan received the Governor on his arrival at the Apollo Hospitals.
She has recovered 95 per cent, says Union min
Union minister Y. S. Chowdary said doctors at Apollo told him Jayalalithaa had “recovered 95 per cent”. After visiting the hospital on Saturday, he told reporters that he was briefed by Lok Sabha deputy speaker S. Thambidurai and Apollo chairman Dr Pratap C. Reddy, besides some of the doctors attending on the chief minister.
“They are very positive and they gave very good report, that she has recovered 95 per cent”, said the minister of state for science and technology, who belongs to the Telugu Desam Party.
