Anantapur: Two drivers were killed and 15 people were injured when a tourist bus collided with a lorry at crosSettipalli s in Sambepalli mandal on the Kadapa-Chittoor NH Road in Annamayya district late on Thursday.
A group of devotees from Proddatur in Kadapa district had hired a private bus to travel to Rameshwaram in Tamil Nadu. There were about 40 tourists on the bus when it reached Settipalli cross. A mini lorry coming from the opposite direction collided with the bus.
The drivers of both the tourist bus and the mini lorry were killed on the spot. Several passengers sustained serious injuries and were shifted to Rayachoti government hospital.
Police have registered a case and shifted the bodies of the two drivers to Rayachoti hospital for post-mortem.
