Devaswom Board Minister Kadakampally Surendran wants Travancore Devaswom Board to act

However, it's learnt that the Board would meet on Wednesday and Thursday next week.

ALAPPUZHA: While Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) is delaying a decision on transfer of non-Brahmin priest to Chettikulangara temple, the government warned the TDB of harsh steps if they would continue to be defiant. “The government has taken legal steps and written a letter to the commissioner and he was summoned. The TDB is an autonomous body. That’s why they defy our orders. They have to correct the fault quickly. If they are still unwilling to implement the order, the government knows what to do. Many people ask me ‘why do you still keep this board that repeatedly land the government in trouble’. Let’s see what they do,” he said.

As the power to reverse the commissioner’s order is vested with the Board, government can’t intervene and Sudhikumar has to wait till the board approves his transfer order. Meanwhile, Despite DC tried to get in touch with TDB chief Prayar Gopalakrishnan, it elicited no response. However, it’s learnt that the Board would meet on Wednesday and Thursday next week. Now all eyes on the meet which is expected to come up with a decision that could end three-month long standoff.
