Trainee sub-inspector ends life at Nalgonda
Hyderabad: A 28-year-old trainee sub-inspector committed suicide in Nalgonda on Wednesday night. Police said that T. Kiran from the 2014 batch hanged himself at his home in Miryalaguda as he was depressed by his ill health.
His family alleged that he was depressed as higher officials were delaying his posting orders. Kiran is survived by his mother, wife and a three-month-old baby boy.
This is the third suicide of an SI in Telangana in the last two months. Kiran, belonging to Miryalaguda, was selected as a police constable in 2012.
While working as a constable he cleared the Railway SI entrance test. He later cleared the civil SI selection test and was undergoing training at the TS Police Academy in Hyderabad.
During training, he fractured his right leg and was treated at a private hospital in Hyderabad. After recovering from the injury, he had approached higher officials seeking posting orders, but was denied.
“When he went to the officials concerned, they denied him a fitness certificate and told him to attend the training with the next batch. He had been meeting everyone to consider his fitness and to give him a posting, but he was rejected everywhere,” said Kiran’s cousin J. Sanjeev.
His family alleged that he was depressed due to this careless attitude of higher officials in the department, which forced him to commit suicide.
Miryalguda DSP S. Ramgopal Rao said Kiran had left the training academy in March 2016 with a letter stating that he should join training along with the next batch. “He was found hanging at his home early on Thursday morning. The reason is not known. Based on evidence we will proceed with the case,” he said.
