AP HC Notices to CRDA, Govt For Delay in Payment of Annuity to Farmers

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh High Court has served notices to the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) and the state government, asking them to explain the delay in paying annuity to the farmers who gave their lands under the Land Pooling Scheme (LPS) for the development of the Amaravati capital region.

The court issued the notices on Tuesday while hearing a petition filed by a group of farmers from Amaravati. The petitioners alleged that the state government had issued a government order (GO) to pay annuity to the farmers in May 2023, but the money had not been released so far.

The court asked the CRDA and the state government to file their counters within four weeks and posted the next hearing after four weeks.
