A search is on to nab the absconding trafficker from Bangladesh and those who sexually assaulted the minor, said the police.

Hyderabad: A 17-year-old girl from Bangladesh was rescued and a couple who illegally migrated to India from that country and running flesh trade were held by the Rachakonda police on Thursday.

The police found that the girl was trafficked to the country and was sexually assaulted multiple times by several persons at Bengaluru and Vijayawada, and forced into prostitution.

A search is on to nab the absconding trafficker from Bangladesh and those who sexually assaulted the minor, said the police.

Rachakonda police commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat said that information was received about the flesh trade at the ECIL area and the place was raided by a team of Kushaiguda police and Special Operations Team (Malkajgiri).

This resulted in the arrest of two Bangladesh nationals, who illegally entered the country and a man who they referred to as their customer.

The commissioner said that one of the accused, Mohd Sohail Hussain, 29, migrated to India illegally and married one Visti Hossan, 25, who had also migrated illegally about four years ago. They were were staying at Hafeezpet in Miyapur.

“The couple came in contact with a person identified as Sigdhar who lured the 17-year-old girl from Bangladesh on the pretext of love and trafficked her to Bengaluru,” Mr Bhagwat said.

The girl was forced into the flesh trade in Bengaluru. Later, she was sold to a woman named Vijaya from Vijayawada, where again the girl was pushed into prostitution. “Sohail again got the girl back by paying money to Vijaya and was running a brothel in the city,” said the commissioner.

During the raids, the teams rescued the girl and arrested Sohail, Visti Hossan and one K Hari Chowdary, 28, and sent the victim to a rescue home.

Further investigation is on to nab the absconding persons including the trafficker from Bangladesh, he said.
