Actress, other women' trade charges
Chennai: Actress Radha and spouses of her respondents on Monday petitioned city police commissioner in connection with the purported conversation between the actress and a history-sheeter who had already been detained under Goondas Act and lodged in Puzhal Prison.
The actress blamed ‘Kundrathur’ Vairam aka Vairamuthu for threatening her for friendship with her childhood friend, Munivel, who is also husband of Umadevi, a respondent.
Speaking to reporters, Radha said she had already spoken to Munivel who clarified there was a domestic quarrel between him and Umadevi brewing.
“Umadevi had teamed up with my divorced husband Fizal.
Vairam should have spoken only at their behest. Two complaints that were preferred by Umadevi earlier in July were withdrawn subsequently,” she said.
The actress who played opposite Murali in Sundara Travels reiterated complaints were being lodged since she had got none to stand for her and designed to malign her reputation.
Umadevi, in her counter-complaint, said she was worried about the affair between her husband, Munivel, and the actress. “I have already registered complaints with city police two times in the recent past.
Police had summoned the actress and my husband. The duo was let-off after they assured they would mend their ways. However, Radha started abusing my children and me over phone recently.
Besides threatening us, she sent a text message purporting that I was in a relationship with another man,” Umadevi said. In the meantime, Vairam's wife Leena who also petitioned CoP, claimed her husband was innocent. Leena blamed Radha of having spreading canards about her husband lodged in Puzhal Prison.
“Private TV channels had telecast a purported audio as spoken by my husband only to tarnish his image. The case pertaining to detention of Vairam is a foisted complaint,” according to Leena. She maintained her husband was into blue metals business and demanded that those behind this scheme be booked.
