Withdraw Cases Against Youths in Konaseema Violence, Says Pawan

Vijayawada: Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan has repeated his call for withdrawal of the cases against “innocent” youths in relation to the violence in Konaseema.

As part of his ongoing AP tour on Varahi, PK met his party activists and leaders at Amalapuram in Dr BR Ambedkar Konaseema district on Friday. Addressing them, he said the people in Konaseema “do not tolerate any injustice” as they were living on a “soil filled with fire”.

However, he said the fight for rights must be done in a peaceful manner. If any movement encouraged violence, its cause would be diluted, he cautioned the people.

Referring to the Indian Constitution framed by BR Ambedkar, PK said the protection of one’s rights must be ensured without encroaching upon the rights of others. Everyone would enjoy equal rights as per law, he said, and exhorted the party leaders and activists not to support anyone involved in any crime.

Referring to the cases of MLC Anantababu allegedly murdering his ex- driver from a Dalit community and a few youths murdering a Class X boy by dousing him with petrol, the JS leader said no one should defend such acts even on caste and other considerations. He said Jana Sena’s main objective was to fight for equal justice for all.

PK said he wanted to develop Amalapuram as a number-one city.

Meanwhile, Mamidipalli Dorababu, hailing from Samanasa village of Amalapuram mandal, presented a garland made of silver ‘flowers’ weighing 511kg to Pawan Kalyan after performing special puja to deity Poleramma and wished him all good luck.

Later, PK took out a road show from Amalapuram to Dindi. A large number of people welcomed him along the way.
