Modi boosted business, freed country of terror: MP Kotak

VISAKHAPATNAM: BJP MP from Mumbai Manoj Kotak asserted that business developed under the rule of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who freed the country from terror attacks, which were frequent under the previous government.

Interacting with business persons from Visakhapatnam on Thursday on the occasion of Narendra Modi completing nine years of his rule, the MP underlined that the PM tightened security and created enough infrastructure, which attracted investors.

“The line-up of investors at the G20 summit is an indication of India’s congenial investment atmosphere,” the BJP MP told participants in the meeting. He is on a three-day tour of Andhra Pradesh. He came to Vizag at the request of Rajya Sabha member G.V.L. Narasimha Rao to interact with business persons.

Kotak maintained that while many countries suffered economically due to Covid-19, India doubled its financial standing. The Prime Minister streamlined the system by constructing 74 additional airports in the country, thereby increasing air connectivity. Similarly, Modi increased the length of national highways from 53,000 km to 93,000 km.

The BJP MP said, in addition, railways witnessed major changes. “High-speed trains are the brainchild of Narendra Modi,” he stated. He pointed out that prior to 2014, India was importing 90 per cent of the mobile phones. Now, the country is the second largest manufacturer of these phones.

“India is also in second place in steel production and fifth in automobile manufacturing and exports during the last nine years,” Kotak pointed out, highlighting Modi's achievements further.

Rajya Sabha member Narasimha Rao, former MLC P.V.N. Madhav and former BJP floor leader in assembly P. Vishnu Kumar Raju were present at the meeting.
