Doctor on-board B'luru-Delhi flight saves woman who suffered cardiac arrest midair

New Delhi/Bengaluru: An elderly woman, who suffered a cardiac arrest onboard an IndiGo flight from Bengaluru to Delhi was saved by a doctor who happened to be her co-passenger.

According a report on Times of India, Rosamma, the 60-year-old woman travelling to Delhi along with a relative, started feeling uneasy and experienced difficulty in breathing soon after the flight took off.

Dr. Niranthara Ganesh, an orthopaedic surgeon who was onboard responded to the cabin crew’s call and administered CPR on the elderly woman, saving her life.

Rosamma, who responded well and sat up after the CPR and some emergency medicine available on the plane, was shifted Medanta Medical Centre inside the Delhi Airport soon after landing.

Her condition is said to be stable now.
