Hyderabad: Union Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda and several BJP senior leaders were stuck in lift at the TS BJP office here on Friday. Though the cable of the lift snapped as it was starting its journey up from ground floor, all the leaders were able to come out safely with the help of MLA N.V.S.S. Prabhakar’s gunman.
Mr Nadda, Mr Prabhakar, MLC N. Ramachander Rao and others had visited the party office to attend a puja programme and after performing the prayers, had got inside the lift to reach the upper floors to congratulate K. Laxman who took charge on Friday as the TS BJP president.
However, the cable of the lift snapped, and the leaders were trapped inside.
Party workers and other leaders tried to get them out and finally, Mr Prabhakar’s gunman removed the grills using a steel rod.
