Mangaluru: A CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) jawan on duty at the New Mangalore Port Main Gate in Karnataka allegedly shot himself to death on Sunday morning.
The deceased, identified as Zakir Hussain (58) hailing from Raichur, ended his life using his service weapon.
Police said that Hussain, who was assigned to the night shift duty at the New Mangalore Port main gate, completed his duty. And, after handing over the responsibilities to the morning shift in charge, at approximately 6.30 am, he entered the washroom adjacent to the main gate, where he shot himself.
A case has been registered at the Panambur Police Station.
