GTA pulls off a grand show in Detroit

Farmington (Detroit), Michigan: The inaugural Board meeting of the Global Telangana Association of USA was held here on Saturday.
The GTA executive committee, Board of Trustees and over 100 delegates from all over the USA attended the brainstorming sessions spread over the entire day with useful inputs and suggestions for the development projects to be taken up for Telangana community across the globe.
The Board discussed a variety of issues and initiatives concerning the Telangana community, which will be taken up with the active support of Telangana communities present all over the globe and in India. GTA will work with both the Government and NGOs for the betterment of lives of various sections in the society in healthcare, education, employment, immigration and business sectors among a few.
GTA USA president Praveen Kesireddy said GTA is fast gaining in popularity and memberships. There are already 10,000 plus members and volunteers enlisted into the new organization, he said. Going by the response, he was sure the figure would touch 25.000 during his two-year tenure as GTA chief executive. However, there were many challenges to be addressed by GTA for which he sought active cooperation from various City Chapters.
GTA chairman, Vishweshwar Kalvala said GTA, after its formal inception in 2022 in India and in the USA, has presence in 50 plus countries already now while the goal is to touch 100 within the term of the present Board. The global chapters will work with GTA units at the district level in India in order to achieve the desired results, he revealed.
On this occasion, Praveen Kesireddy has constituted various standing committees for GTA across the chapters in USA.
A GTA World-wide convention is being planned either in July-August or December time frame next year and the leadership is actively involved in working out the modalities of the same.
Later, in the evening, GTA Detroit entertained an audience of more than 700 Michiganders in Telangana Dhoom Dhaam, a colorful cultural extravaganza.
The performances by the Cultural Team - singers Abhigna Yanaganti, Spoorthi Jithender, Pravallika Neerati, Sristi Chilla, Anjani Krishna Prasad, Srinivas Durgam & Jaligama brothers – Praveen and Krishna Prasad, dance performances by local kids from Zahara group, and mimicry by Vikas Vulli were spellbinding.
The cultural coordination team comprising Suma Kalvala, Sushma Padukone, and Shirisha Reddy conducted the evening’s proceedings with great precision.
