Thiruvananthapuram: The 90th samadhi of Sree Narayana Guru was held at the Maha Samadhi in Sivagiri with thousands attending the prayer meeting. People from far and near thronged the Maha Samadhi which reverberated with solemn prayers since early morning. The prayers started at 4:30 am on Thursday at the parnasala. Later special prayers were also held at Sarada Mutt. Religious prayers on the Guru were read out all through the day by believers who came from all walks of life.
The fast meeting coinciding with the samadhi day was inaugurated by nonagenarian and former president of Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham Trust Swami Prakashananda. Trust member Swami Parananda lit the lamp and the samadhi day events were inaugurated by Puranattukara Sreeramakrishna Mutt president Swami Sadbhavananda. The current trust president Swami Vishudhananda presided over the meeting. Trust general secretary Swami Sandrananda and other trust members Swami Sachithananda and Swami Vishalananda led the prayer meeting at the Maha Samadhi.
