Kerala: Converted girl makes ghar wapsi'
Her father Raveendran and mother Asha were also present when she spoke to media persons in Kochi.
Kochi: Athira, a 23-year old girl belonging to Kaniyambadi, Uduma in Kasargod district, who had converted into Islam and adopted the name Aayisha in July, on Thursday told reporters that she is making a comeback to her original religion. Her father Raveendran and mother Asha were also present when she spoke to media persons in Kochi.
The girl, a post graduate student of Kasargod Government College went missing from her home in July and later appeared in a court and stated that she left the home on her free will and converted to Islam. On Thursday she claimed she was persuaded to convert into Islam by her close friend Aneesa at the behest of her brother Siraj, allegedly a leader of Popular Friend of India (PFI).
