WARANGAL: Mulugu collector Krishna Aditya, who is already discharging duties as in-charge collector of Jayashankar Bhupalpally district, has now also been given additional responsibility as Eturnagaram ITDA project officer.
With this, Krishna Aditya now heads three crucial administrative posts. People of Eturnagaram agency, Mulugu and Jayashankar Bhupalpally districts are worried this triple responsibility will divert attention of the top officer from government schemes in their respective areas.
Eturnagaram ITDA is spread over 13 mandals and 41 villages of Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Mahabubabad, Warangal and Hanmakonda districts. It covers an estimated 41,153 population of tribals. A separate IAS officer must look after an ITDA, especially if welfare schemes introduced by central and state governments are to reach all tribal people.
There is already criticism in the two districts and agency areas that appointing in-charge officers has led to neglect of key Kaleswaram and Tupakulagudem projects, as well as land acquisition, dealing with welfare of land oustees and job creation. There are also complaints that welfare schemes are not reaching people.
In this context, people are demanding appointment of separate administrative officers for the two districts. Only then will integrated development of these districts be possible, they maintain.
