Hyderabad: Boundary wall of school collapses
Hyderabad: The boundary wall of Moazzam Jahi Market Girls Primary School that collapsed five days ago waits for action by the education department and GHMC. The school building is over 80-years-old and the locals apprehend that the weakened wall may pull down the entire structure if it rains heavily.
The school was established in 1942 with the name of 'Madarsa Tehtaniya Niswaan'. It is an aided school. The school provides upper primary and secondary level education in Urdu medium to girls.
Mr Mohammed Ahmed, a local activist said on August 15 the boundary wall collapsed at night. Fortunately there were no injuries. "If the authorities do not reconstruct the wall, the remaining portion can collapse at any time due to vibration from vehicles moving on the road," Mr Ahmed said. He said he has submitted a memorandum to the district collector and the GHMC commissioner requesting them to repair or reconstruct the dilapidated building. Thus far, nothing has been done.
