Kerala: Students needn't pay liquidated damages
However, the fees remitted by such students for the year will not be refunded.

Thiruvananthapuram: Liquidated damages will not be collected from the students admitted to private self-financing engineering and architecture colleges, except in the colleges under the Kerala Catholic Engineering College Managements Association, who leave the college for getting admission in medical and allied courses through the allotment process. However, the fees remitted by such students for the year will not be refunded.
The third allotment published on July 20 was the last phase of allotment to private self-financing engineering and architecture colleges. Hence the students who get allotment in such colleges should join the colleges allotted before 5 pm on July 25. Otherwise they are liable to pay the liquidated damages as per clause 12.2.4 (c) of the prospectus for engineering and medical entrance examinations.
Such candidates will not be eligible for the refund of fees already paid to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations as per clause 12.2.3 of the prospectus. The higher order options in engineering and architecture courses of candidates who are allotted to private self-financing engineering and architecture colleges will be deleted after this allotment as per the existing government orders. In this phase, allotment is done to engineering, architecture, agriculture, veterinary, fisheries and forestry courses only.
