Thiruvananthapuram: Peermedu MLA E S Bijimol on Tuesday expressed regret over "god father" remark made during an interview to a magazine indirectly criticising the state leadership of the CPI for not considering her for Cabinet berth this time. The MLA submitted her explanation before CPI state executive. She said the magazine had not reproduced what she expressed.
Many of the things which were said in an informal manner were included in the published interview. The meeting discussed the explanation given by Bijimol. Whether the explanation is satisfactory or whether any disciplinary action is required to be taken against the legislator would be decided at the two day state council meeting. CPI state executive had earlier issued a show cause notice to E S Bijimol for making anti party remarks in the interview.
Meanwhile, state executive condemned the violence unleashed against Dalit youth in Gujarat and called upon people to protest against the inhuman act. C N Jayadevan MP presided over the meeting. State secretary Kanam Rajendran, central secretariat member Pannyan Raveendran, national executive members Benoy Viswam, K E Ismail, state assistant secretaries K Prakash Babu, Sathyan Mokeri took part. The state executive will be followed by two days state council meeting beginning from Friday.
