CBI to HC: Avinash Reddy hatched plot to kill YS Vivekananda Reddy

Hyderabad: The Central Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday made startling revelations in the Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy murder case raising the needle of suspicion on Kadapa MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy and his father Y.S. Bhaskar Reddy right from hatching conspiracy to erasing evidence and sheltering the accused.

The CBI, in its counter-affidavit filed opposing bail to one of the accused Sunil Yadav, said since the political move of Vivekananda Reddy was unexpected for Bhaskar Reddy and Avinash Reddy, therefore, they were unhappy and the circumstantial evidence indicates that they hatched a conspiracy with the help of his trusted conduit D. Siva Shankar Reddy (A-5), who had criminal background and had helped them in sabotaging the MLC election 2017 in defeating Vivekananda Reddy.”

He has been in jail for 21 months and he was shifted to Chanchalguda Jail recently. He filed bail petition before the High Court for bail.

Investigation has revealed that Siva Shankar Reddy, in order to carry out the conspiracy, had roped in T. Gangi Reddy (A-1) who was getting close to him, had developed grudge on various pretexts against Vivekananda Reddy.

During investigation, it was found that Avinash Reddy, despite seeing injuries on the body of Vivekananda Reddy, informed that he died of heart attack. He also played a crucial role in erasing the evidence. The CBI also said accused were in Avinash house before and after Vivekananda Reddy’s killling.

Investigation has further revealed that after the floating the heart attack theory of Vivekananda Reddy, the accused arranged cotton and bandages to hide the injuries on the body of the deceased. Thereafter, the body was shifted to the Government. Hospital, Pulivendula in an ambulance.
