Jishnu death case: Kerala High Court raises doubt over abetment'

The court also restrained Krishnadas from entering any of the institutions owned by the group.

Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Tuesday asked the police to produce the case diary and statement of Nehru College principal A.S. Varadarajan and posted the case to Wednesday. It asked the state about the sustainability of charging a case for abetment of suicide against P. Krishnadas, chairman and managing trustee of the Nehru College of Educational and Charitable Trust, and the first accused in the unnatural death of Jishnu Pranoy, student.

The court also restrained Krishnadas from entering any of the institutions owned by the group. The court was considering an application filed by the state against the interim bail awarded to Krishnadas. The court also extended the interim bail granted to Krishnadas till Wednesday. The police submitted that custodial interrogation of the accused was necessary. Otherwise, undemocratic torture by the accused will continue. The first accused is the principal conspirator who wants to enforce the so- called discipline in the college by intimidating and mentally or physically harassing the students, said the police.
