13 Indian, overseas firms submit bids for Airport Metro corridor

HYDERABAD: Five consortiums comprising 13 reputable Indian and international engineering consultancy firms have submitted pre-qualification
bids for General Consultants (GC) for the 31-km Hyderabad Airport Metro corridor.

The Hyderabad Airport Metro Limited (HAML) officials said on Wednesday that
they had received a favourable response to their for request for qualification (RfQ) tender for the general consultants (GC) for the Hyderabad Airport Metro corridor. Pre-qualification bids have been submitted by foreign corporations from Germany, South Korea, Spain, Japan, and Switzerland.

These five consortiums include Systra (France), RITES (India) and DB Engineering & Consulting (Germany), Ayesa Ingenieria y Arquitectura (Spain),
Nippon Koei (Japan) and Aarvee Associates (India), Technica y Proyectos (TYPSA) (Spain) and PINI Group (Switzerland), AECOM India, Egis Rail
(France) and Egis India apart from Consulting Engineers Group (India) and
Korea National Railway (South Korea).

Following the review of their applications, HAML managing director N.V.S.
Reddy stated that the next stage bid documents, namely the Request for
Proposal (RfP) documents, will be issued to the pre-qualified bidders by the
end of this month.

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao recently laid the foundation stone for
the Rs 6,250 crore Hyderabad Airport Metro project, which will connect Mindspace junction and Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad. The
project, which is entirely funded by the Telangana government, will run at
120 kmph and take passengers from Mindspace Junction to Shamshabad
International Airport in 26 minutes.
