Jeweller, son die in fire mishap in Visakhapatnam

Vishakapatnam: A jeweller and his son were killed while his wife and daughter sustained burn injuries in a fire mishap at their residence-cum-shop near Krishna Bazaar Centre in Narsipatnam town of Anakapalle district early on Sunday.

The deceased were identified as Navara Malleswara Rao, known as Nanaji, owner of Ambica Jewellers and his son Navara Moulesh, an engineering student.

Police and fire service personnel said the fire broke out reportedly due to an electrical short-circuit around 3.05 am on Sunday. After receiving the information, the firemen reached the spot and managed to enter the first floor of the building, where the daughter was found unconscious. After the girl regained consciousness she who informed that her parents and brother were on the second floor, where the firemen found the three others unconscious.

The four were shifted to a hospital. Nanaji and his son were declared brought dead while the mother-daughter duo are undergoing treatment.
