No need to carry filth called CPI: Power minister M M Mani
KOZHIKODE: There seems to be no end to the political mudslinging between CPM and CPI following the resignation of former transport minister Thomas Chandy. To muddle an already murky scene, power minister M.M. Mani fired the latest salvo on Monday claiming that there was ‘no need for CPM to carry the filth called CPI.’ Speaking at the conclusion of CPM area committee conference at Vandoor in Malappuram, the minister slammed the CPI for its gross unfair behavior in Chandy issue.
"The revenue minister had attempted to solve a complaint against a minister on his own without informing the Chief Minister. The NCP is a national party and they had asked an hour to find a solution. But CPI boycotted the Cabinet meeting without waiting," said Mr Mani. He also attacked the LDF ally for its approach in land encroachment issues in Munnar. "CPI is trying to project a heroic image at the cost of the CPM. That is against the front ethics," he reasoned. Mr Mani's comments come at a time where both the Left parties had urged its leaders to keep mum on the issues related to the resignation of Mr Chandy.
