KASARGOD: The rift in the LDF combine came out in open when CPM boycotted an official function of revenue minister E. Chandrasekharan held on Monday in Kasargod. None of the CPM representatives turned for the event despite being invited formally. The minister was in Kasargod to inaugurate a function where equipment were distributed to the physically-challenged.
P. Karunakaran, MP, Uduma MLA K. Kunjiraman, Thrikkaripur MLA M. Rajagopalan, Kanjangad municipality chairman V.V. Rameshan, Neeleshwaram block panchayat president V.P. Janaki were CPM representative who gave the event a miss. It was later learned that CPM had orally instructed its leaders not to take part in the official functions of minister Chandrasekharan in his home district. However, CPM district committee did not respond to a specific query over the incident.
