Tribal Youth Being Made Scapegoat in Pravallika Case: BJP

HYDERABAD: Former BJP MP Ravindra Naik said the BRS was making a tribal youth, Shivaram Rathod, the scapegoat in the suicide of government job aspirant M. Pravallika. Rathod is being held in a police station despite the court refusing to grant his custody on Friday, Naik said. Rathod and his parents were being pressured by the police.

He listed a series of shortcomings by the government with regard to tribal welfare. He recalled that no action was taken on a BRS man who allegedly raped and killed a six-year-old tribal girl in Sircilla constituency. A tribal woman, Vaditha Lakshmi, had to face third degree torture. This government put handcuffs on tribal farmers, he said.

Attention is being diverted from the actual issue behind the death of Pravalika, which is Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao not recruiting for government jobs, he said.
