Students Perform Saraswathi Puja

Kakinada: Thousands of students performed Saraswati pooja in various temples and pandals during the Navaratri festival in erstwhile East and West Godavari districts on Friday.

Students attended Saraswati pooja in Akondi Lakshmi and Chaganti Gosala where Navratri poojas were performed. Spiritual speaker Chaganti Koteswara Rao said that by performing Saraswati pooja, students can gain concentration in their studies and knowledge in their subjects.

He said Goddess Saraswati was fond of white colour which indicated peace of mind. Students should complete their syllabus-based studies from time to time, rather than losing sleep in the final days, to achieve their goals.

Saraswati puja was performed in Bhuvaneswari Peetham by Chinta Gopi Sarma at Peddapuram and Raja Rajeswari Peetham by Devarabhotla Prabhakara Sarma in Bikkavolu where a large number of students attended the ceremony.

In Bala Tripura Sundari Temple at Kakinada, Saraswati moola pooja was performed by hundreds of students.

Meanwhile Navratri poojas were held at Devichowk at Rajamahendravaram. The Vasavi Sangham at Amalapuram decorated Goddess Lakshmi Devi with Rs 2.50 crore of currency notes. The organisers said that they were doing this for the past ten years. Initially, it was started with Rs 40 lakh.

At the famous Ayyappa Swamy temple, the Abhishekam performance was led by P Gopalakrishna for Goddess Kamakshi Devi. The devotees, in particular women, participated in the Abhishekam and Kumkum poojas with devotional fervour.

Gopalakrishna said Gou Pooja, Sivabhishekam, Kumkum pooja and chandi homam were being performed to the God and Goddesses daily till the end of the VijayaDasami festival. Bala Pooja, Suvasini pooja etc were also being done in the temple.
