Hyderabad: The Detroit chapter of Global Telangana Association (GTA) organised Bathukamma celebrations on a grand note at the Novi Civic Centre Hall in the United States of America.
The event showcased the rich culture and heritage of Telangana state. Families dressed in their traditional attire thronged the venue. They participated in the Bathukamma dance while singing praises of Goddess Gouri Devi.
The event provided a great opportunity for people of Indian origin to bond and share their heritage with the others. Traditional food items were served on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, GTA USA president Kesireddy Praveen said he is overwhelmed by the unprecedented turnout of people for the Bathukamma celebrations, which were organised in Detroit for the first time.
He lauded the efforts put in by the organising committee, which included Sushama Padukone, Suma Kalvala and Swapna Chintapally.
