Microsoft invited to Amaravati
Visakhapatnam: Talks are on with the technology giant Microsoft to set up its 11th development centre in Amaravati, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said on Thursday.
He was speaking here after launching the operations of eight small IT/ITeS companies which are part of the IT Serve Alliance, in Seethammadhara Vuda Complex.
“All long marches started with a few small steps. I hope the number would soon turn into 8,000 companies. I started off with Cyber Towers in Hitec City in Hyderabad, which soon made Hyderabad an IT destination. The same strategy will be replicated our efforts would soon reach fruition. We would develop Vizag as another Silicon Valley,” he said.
The Chief Minister said the government had recently held a meeting with representatives of Reliance Jio and asked them to extend Wi-Fi services to all universities and colleges.
“The IT Serve Alliance, which is a consortium of 500 small companies, offers services to major MNCs. We would make them a part of the government’s e-Pragati programme,” added Mr Naidu.
Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao and Ayyanna Patrudu, Vizag MP K. Haribabu, Dr Muralidhar Nannapaneni and Dr Ravikumar of the AP Non-Resident Telugu Corporation, and others were present.
