The police said that stringent action will be taken against political leaders who obstruct the investigations.

KANNUR: The police on Thursday arrested four more CPM workers in connection with the attack on the houses of BJP workers at Kuthuparamba after the murder of CPM leader Kuzhichalil Mohanan recently. The arrested, including Kuthuparamba CPM branch secretary Aneesh and workers Vineesh, Sreejil and Nikhil, were charged with non-bailable offences.

The police said that over 40 people were involved in various cases related to the attack on the houses in Koothuparamba and Dharmadam areas. The people in the area were planning to approach the Chief Minister as well as human rights commission on the ‘violence’ let loose by the police. They complained that the police had broken open the doors of the houses in search of Aneesh.

The doors of the houses of K. Asokan and Chittakkandi Janu were destroyed, they alleged. The police said that stringent action will be taken against political leaders who obstruct the investigations. Around 45 people were taken into custody and explosives were seized. Six steel bombs and a large number of knives and swords were seized on Monday.
