Guru ji has forgiven me,' says Vishal Daldlani after meeting Jain monk

Dadlani had described Jain monk Tarun Sagar's speech in Haryana assembly on August 26 as monkery'.

Chandigarh: Music composer Vishal Dadlani on Wednesday said that Jain monk Tarun Sagar had forgiven him for his comments on his speech in the Haryana Assembly, which had triggered a huge controversy.

Dadlani said that he found his comments against the saint unnecessary and is glad that the Jain guru has accepted his apology.

"Guruji has forgiven me and I think we have also developed a connection between us. We both are blunt. He said that whenever I am free and he has time I should visit him. I felt very nice after meeting him," said Dadlani.

"The main thing is that he has forgiven me. I did not expect him to be so nice with me. The case is a different thing; judiciary will take its own course. However, this was my attempt to seek apology from Muni ji as I felt that the statement I made was not necessary," he added.

Dadlani, who was lacerated for his sarcastic tweet on Jain monk Tarun Sagar last month, met the spiritual leader at his ashram to deliver his latest apology.

Dadlani had described Sagar's speech in the assembly on August 26 as "monkery" and later deleted the tweet and added that the monk "has no clothes on", which reflected an unhealthy trend of religion colouring politics.
