Chennai: The BJP and the Hindu Munnani have condemned the murder of VHP leader Suri in Hosur and also the attack on a functionary of the Hindu Munnani in Dindigul and demanded the police to take swift action and arrest the culprits.
Condemning the murder of VHP’s district secretary Suri alias Suresh in Hosur and also the murderous attack on Hindu Munnani’s Dindigul district executive committee member Shankar Ganesh, Hindu Munnani founder-convenor Ramagopalan called upon the police to end the frequent attacks on the leaders and cadres of the Hindu organisations.
His party members led by D. Manohar, state executive committee member and president and G. Karthikeyan, state deputy president, staged a demonstration here on Tuesday condemning the attacks.
Taking strong exception to the Hindu leaders being targeted, BJP state president Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan said a handful of persons from fringe groups and certain political outfits were needlessly dragging the name of RSS with an ulterior motive to tarnish the image of this apolitical organisation.
