Police foil Ex MLA Maheshwar Reddy's indefinite strike

Adilabad: Police foiled hunger strike led by former MLA and BJP leader Aleti Maheswhar Reddy on Sunday night. He has been on an indefinite fast for the last five days demanding that the proposed master plan of Nirmal municipality be withdrawn.

In late-night action, police picked up him and shifted him to the hospital.

He alleged that the ruling BRS leaders are making crores from real estate ventures through changes in land use laws.

He alleged that the master plan was poorly designed and affected the interests of the farmers. "It would forcefully take away their agricultural lands that are under the green zone. In the name of land acquisition, these lands are being sold to industrialists," he alleged.

The ruling BRS party leaders are purchasing the lands that were marked under Full Water Level at cheap rates and selling them to industrialists and business establishments for exorbitant prices, he alleged.
