Hyderabad: Three persons from Ghat-kesar, who posted objectionable pictures of a woman from their village with an intent to harass her, were arrested by the Rachakonda cyber crime police on Tuesday.
The Rachakonda cyber crime police said that a woman from the city had complained morphed pictures of unidentified women were being uploaded on the Facebook profile by one V. Rakesh, 19, a resident of Ankushapur in Ghatkesar and also posted her phone number.
During the investigation, it was found that Rakesh had earlier proposed to marry the woman, but she refused his proposal. He developed a grudge over her and in order to harass her, Rakesh, who already knew the woman’s user id and password of Facebook account, uploaded naked pictures collected from the internet and posted them through her profile. The woman started receiving phone calls from strangers causing inconvenience, said the police.
The accused Rakesh along with his friends Chinthakindi Mahesh, 23, and Md Gouse, 21, who helped in the commission of the offence was arrested and produced before a court in a case registered under sections 354 D and 509 of IPC and also under 66 C and 67 of IT Act, said the cyber crime police.
