It's warm and dry as Madhya Pradesh takes moisture from Telangana and AP

There is no rainfall warning; the forecast is, light to moderate rain over isolated areas.

Hyderabad: Saturday felt like it was summer in both Telangana state and Andhra Pradesh.

Jangamaheswarpuram in Guntur district of AP recorded 39.6ºC degrees, followed by Ongole of Prakasam district at 39.3ºC.

In Telangana, Khammam recorded the maximum of 37ºC, followed by Ramagundam at 35ºC. It was 34ºC in Hyderabad, 4ºC above the normal for August.

The rise in temperatures accompanied by dry winds come in the middle of the monsoons, the first phase of which was largely bountiful.

The weather bureau attribute this change to the southwest monsoon currents being weak over the two states leading to lack of cloud formation. More of the sun’s energy was reaching the ground, translating into higher temperatures.

Weather officials said the deep depression in Madhya Pradesh had sucked out the moisture present over the states of TS and AP. This was resulting in the air in the two states turning extremely dry. This dry weather was also affecting the chances of clouds forming.

Weather officials the depression over MP was likely to move westwards and gradually weaken into a depression during next 24 hours. A trough at sea level now runs from Odisha to South Tamil Nadu along coastal AP.

There is no rainfall warning; the forecast is, light to moderate rain over isolated areas.
