Medical college bribery: Kerala MPs take up issue to Lok Sabha
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala contingent in the Lok Sabha, united in opposing the BJP, trooped into the well of the House on Thursday on being denied a chance to raise allegations of BJP leaders taking bribes in sanctioning medical colleges. Congress and Left MPs from the State were on their feet during question hour as the House took up the farm front crisis.
They tried to bring up contents of an internal report blaming BJP leaders, which were leaked to the media on Wednesday. But Speaker Sumitra Mahajan declined permission, forcing the members to retreat. RSP leader N K Premachandran, MP, said the allegations tarred the so-called unsullied reputation of the BJP. The party should have been ready for a discussion in the House and straightened up the record if it had nothing to hide, he said.
